The Exeter (Summerway) Junior Lawn Tennis Club was one of the best and most successful junior tennis clubs in the UK. By withdrawing its support and attempting to impose unbearable burdens upon it, Exeter City Council ‘constructively evicted’ the Club from the site it had leased since 1972.  Summerway Tennis was a superb concept.  It mustn’t be allowed to die.

Resolution 7 passed at the Special General Meeting of the Club on 20th January 2007 states:

That the Exeter (Summerway) Junior Lawn Tennis Club calls upon Local Government to provide in the Whipton locality those Services previously supplied by the Club to the Community which have been lost by the effective withdrawal of Local Government from its partnership with the Club.
