ECC can be compared with a hunter who kills for pleasure. A hunter thinks that the stuffed head of a magnificent beast hung on a wall shows his prowess and status. The City Council has certainly stuffed the only affordable tennis in Exeter. It is trying to create a showpiece park in its place. Does such a trophy justify killing off a superb and vibrant Club, which has served the children and the community so well for so long? It should be serving them still. Exeter City Council has replaced the living by the dead, and expects the world to applaud.
